When will the Icon Conference be taking place?
Tuesday 2nd July to Wednesday 3rd July 2024 (approx. 9:00am-5pm on both days).
Where will Icon24 be taking place?
Is there any funding available to help with the costs of attending the conference?
If you are looking for help with conference costs, you could consider applying for an Anna Plowden/Clothworkers’ Foundation CPD Grant (CPD Grants | Anna Plowden Trust). In order to obtain funding in time for the conference, you would need to submit your application by 8 April 2024.
Will I need to pre-register to attend the Conference?
Attendance to the conference will only be permitted for those who have registering beforehand. To do this please see our tickets page. On-the-day admittance will not be allowed. Badges will be issued upon arrival at the Royal Geographical Society and will be your pass to all conference events. We encourage everyone to wear their badge at all times, but if you choose not to please be aware you may be asked to show it to gain entry to the different activities.
What is included in my ticket?
For all in-person attendees the following is included in your ticket price:
- Attendance at one or both days (depending on ticket option)
- Lunch and refreshments
- Attendance at the Summer evening drinks reception
- Access to our sponsors and exhibitors stalls before each day and during breaks
- Access to the conference session recordings
- Access to a number of online events which will run from July – December. Further details of these will be announced soon.
For all online attendees, the offer is the same as above but without the attendance at the Summer Evening Drinks Reception.
Can I attend some days virtually and some in-person?
Yes. To do this you would need to purchase an in-person ticket.
Is the Conference accessible?
Do you cater for dietary requirements?
Yes we are happy to cater for a range of dietary requirements. Please indicate if you require vegetarian, vegan, gluten free or other made when you book your ticket. We are sorry but we can only cater for specific dietary requirements and not personal preferences.
Who can attend the Summer evening drinks reception?
All ticket holders are warmly invited to the Summer evening drinks reception on Tuesday between 6pm – 8pm. The evening will be located in the Education Centre and the garden terrace at the Royal Geographical Society and will include a more relaxed opportunity to network and an entertaining programme to be announced soon.
Where can I see a full programme?
The programme is available to view here. We will be revealing more of our high-profile speakers and additional conference activities over the coming months. Please check back here, subscribe to the Icon newsletter, or follow us on social media for the latest announcements. Printed Icon24 Conference brochures will be available to all in-person attendees. PDF versions will be available to all who join the event online.
Please note that the programme and timings are subject to change without notice.
Will the sessions be recorded?
A link to the recordings of all the conference presentations will be sent to all in-person and online attendees within 7 days of the event. Following the conference the recordings will also be available on the Icon website for conference attendees only.
Can I store my luggage at the venue?
Attendees are encouraged to leave their luggage and any other large items at their hotel as storage space at the Royal Geographical Society is limited. Any items brought to the venue that you do not wish to carry around can be placed in an unsupervised room at the owner's risk.
