About us

Icon Scotland Group is a national sub-group of Icon and represents professional conservators across all disciplines, as well as conservation scientists, preservation managers and other conservation professionals working in Scotland. Our Objectives
  • Provide opportunities for networking, knowledge exchange and training within Scotland
  • Advocate for conservation within the Scottish heritage sector
  • Support emerging professionals based in Scotland

With conservators and museum professionals from a diverse range of backgrounds, we aim to cater to all aspects of conservation with our Events Programme. If there is a course or subject area that you would like to see covered, or if you have a workshop that you’d like to run for the benefit of the Scottish conservation community, please get in touch: [email protected].

You can read about the experiences of the Icon Scotland community in our Conservation Conversations Blog, where you will find articles relating to conservation treatment case studies, event reviews, interviews with conservators, student placement blogs, as well as other snippets of information. There is over a decade of archive materials to peruse, and if you have something to contribute please get in touch: [email protected].
