Making a gift in your will

Help us to champion cultural heritage and secure the future of the conservation profession by leaving a gift to Icon in your will

Whether you are a conservator or a long term supporter of cultural heritage conservation, leaving a gift in your will to Icon will help us promote excellence in the profession, raise awareness of the value of conservation and foster the careers of emerging conservators.

As our recent research shows, the act of conserving cultural heritage objects and collections makes a significant contribution to society. It contributes to knowledge and understanding, national and local economies, a sense of identity, enhanced wellbeing and empowered communities.

Your gift will help us spread the word and make sure that conservation is valued by people around the world. Your gift will also allow us to invest in the next generation of conservation professionals to ensure that museums and galleries remain able to care for the collections and our cultural heritage. With your help, we can safeguard the skills needed to unlock the stories of our objects and make sure that they can be made accessible for learning and leisure for generations to come.

There are three main types of gifts that you can leave to Icon.

Unrestricted donations allow us to focus our funds where they are most needed and ensure that our vital advocacy work can continue. We are happy to receive restricted donations as well, so if you would like to leave a gift for a specific activity please contact us to discuss your ideas. You don’t need to tell us about your intentions, but if you have any questions or would like to discuss this further, please contact Sara Crofts.

Icon is not able to advise on the legal wording you can use in your will.  However, Remember a Charity is a free online resource that provides guidance on leaving a legacy and finding a solicitor.
