October is Icon's Student Month!

Join us in celebrating student achievement and supporting early career development

04 Oct 2022

With the start of the academic year firmly in swing, Icon warmly welcomes new and returning conservation students to their courses!

Join us for our second annual Student Month, where we celebrate the achievements of our emerging conservators and signpost the support, resources, and initiatives available to all Icon Student members.

Now more than ever, engaging with the wider sector and taking opportunities to enhance your skills is vital. That’s why Icon Students will always have the full run of Icon membership benefits. From being first to know the latest news and reports from across the sector via Icon publications, to accessing all the latest job opportunities, and getting involved in the wider conservation community in Icon's diverse range of Groups and Networks.

This Student Month, we’ll be running additional events and workshops to further improve your early career skills. Take time to check out our Events page, where members will always get discounted or exclusive access to our programmes. Our events are an excellent chance for you to raise your profile, start building your professional networks and engage with developments across the sector.

Take your professional development one step further with our  Student Project Gallery.  Designed for our first ever Student Month in 2021, this is the perfect place to get your best work noticed by prospective clients and employers. Just log in to the members’ area on the Icon website to start creating.

Student members can also take advantage of mentorships. Icon’s Student Mentor Programme offers 25 graduating Icon Student members the chance for 1-to-1 support from an experienced Icon-Accredited conservator.

Your progression into the working world will be supported by experienced peers, who can help identify opportunities for development, discuss career success, and reflect on your ambitions. To get involved, all Icon Student members and entry-level Icon Associate or Pathway members need to do is apply for a place on the scheme.

With an ever-expanding range of online resources for students and other materials designed for the conservation community at large, Icon is the place for advice and support as you enter the profession.
