The AIC sustainability committee, in collaboration with Icon Sustainability Network, will talk with Karen Zukor, paper conservator in private practice for over thirty-five years and Fellow of the American Institute for Conservation. She has been responsible for many collections - including fine art, archival material, maps, documents, and rare books - held both in private hands and at institutions. In addition, she has trained both pre- and post-program interns for over twenty years, and lectures widely to the general public. Karen will discuss alternative energy strategies she’s been implementing for her studio, such as installing solar panels and climate regulation by passive means. The conversation will end with an audience Q&A.

The AIC Sustainability Committee, in collaboration with the Icon Sustainability Network, is excited to announce the next in a series of webinars during which we chat with conservators and allied professionals who are implementing changes to reduce the energy consumption of their buildings.
Thursday, 9th March
- Sustainabiltiy Network: Resistance, Adaptation, Acceptance: Dr Mairi Davies, Climate Change Policy Manager, Historic Environment Scotland (HES), shared how HES are helping to safeguard the HES estate against climate change and how their approach to climate change impacts, risk and adaptation of the historic environment have been shaped by working in partnership with other organisations.

- Sustainability in Museum Lighting: David Saunders looks at how the cultural heritage sector can look at museum lighting within the wider context to reduce to reduce the use of non-renewable energy.
