Scotland Group: Black History Walking Tour of Edinburgh

Join Lisa Williams on a fascinating and eye-opening walking tour around Edinburgh.

Lisa Williams uses Edinburgh's built heritage to illuminate the role of Scots in slavery and colonialism from a Caribbean perspective.

This walking tour will explore a series of stories and histories of Black people with heritage from North America, Africa and the Caribbean, who visited and lived in Edinburgh over the centuries, as well as the ongoing influence they have had on the city, and the remarkable legacies they have left.

The walk around the centre of the town will make you see Edinburgh’s statues and buildings in a whole new way!

The meeting point is close to both Waverley Station and St. Andrews Bus Station. The route is fairly gentle, and has some rest stops along the way.

The Black History Walking Tour of Edinburgh is a form of cultural production and has been copyrighted.
