Health and Safety for Conservators (November 2024)

Icon’s 'Health and Safety for Conservators' provides an overview of the essential and current Health & Safety information for conservators working in a conservation studio and/or on-site. 

This workshop is split over four sessions, across two days on 12 and 19 November 2024. The programme is delivered by Martin Adlem, an experienced Health and Safety consultant who has run this bespoke programme for conservators for move than 10 years.

10:30 - Session 1: Health & Safety Responsibilities - an overview of why we bother with Health and Safety, discussing our legal responsibilities under both criminal and civil law.

14:00 - Session 2: Risk Assessment - an overview of the process of risk assessment and templates to follow.

19 November 2024

10:30 - Session 3: Chemical Safety - looking at how chemicals cause harm and how we can protect ourselves and others from them.

14:00 - Session 4: Manual handling, working at height and fire - a discussion of the top three of the hazards which are most commonly discussed and how they can be controlled
