Conservation Matters Wales 2023, Swansea Museum

Eleni rydym yn cael croeso yn personol yn ôl i'n cynhadledd Nadolig boblogaidd, a gynhelir gan Amgueddfa wych Abertawe ac sy'n cynnig cyfle i gwrdd unwaith eto â ffrindiau a chydweithwyr o bob rhan o'r sector cadwraeth casgliadau amgueddfeydd.

This year we are having a welcomed in person return of our popular Christmas conference, hosted by the wonderful Swansea Museum and offering a chance to meet once again with friends and colleagues from across the museum collections conservation sector.

Thema'r gynhadledd eleni yw un o rannu eich stori sy'n gysylltiedig â chadwraeth i ddathlu amrywiaeth a chreadigrwydd ein gwaith. Mae cadwraethwyr yn wydn ac yn arloesol, ac rydym am glywed am bethau rydych chi wedi'u dysgu, profiadau a enillwyd, ac unrhyw brosiectau gwych wedi'u cwblhau! Rydym nawr yn chwilio am gynigion ar gyfer cyflwyniadau 10 i 20 munud ar gyfer y gynhadledd ac yn annog myfyrwyr a gweithwyr proffesiynol sy'n dod i'r amlwg yn enwedig i gymryd rhan. Dyddiad cau ar gyfer cyflwyno crynodebau (uchafswm o 200 gair) i Megan de Silva - [email protected] - erbyn 24 Tachwedd 2023.

This year’s conference theme is simply one of sharing your Conservation related story to celebrate the diversity and creativity of our work. Conservators are resilient and innovative, and we want to hear about things you have learnt, experiences gained, and any fabulous projects completed! We are now seeking proposals for 10 to 20-minute presentations for the conference and encourage students and emerging professionals especially to take part. Deadline for submission of abstracts (max. 200 words) to Megan de Silva - [email protected] - by 24th November 2023.

Bydd hwn yn ddigwyddiad personol yn unig oherwydd cymhlethdodau gwneud cyfarfodydd hybrid ni fyddwn yn ceisio cynnig opsiwn rhithwir byw. Fodd bynnag, byddwn yn ceisio recordio'r gynhadledd er mwyn sicrhau ei bod ar gael yn ddiweddarach gyda chaniatâd y cyflwynwyr.

The event will be in-person event only as due to the complexities of doing hybrid meetings we will not be trying to offer a live virtual option. However, we will look to record the conference to make available at a later date with the permissions of the presenters.

Mae cofrestru yn £25 ond am ddim i gyflwynwyr, gwirfoddolwyr, myfyrwyr, a'r rhai sydd ar fudd-daliadau.

Registration is £25 but free for presenters, volunteers, students, and those on benefits.

Bydd cadwraethwyr, curaduron, rheolwyr casglu ac eraill sy'n gofalu am gasgliadau yn mynychu'r gynhadledd drawsddisgyblaethol hon. Ethos y gynhadledd yw bod yn rhwydwaith cynhwysol a chroesewir cynigion gan y rhai y tu mewn a'r tu allan i Gymru, ond wrth ddewis papurau byddwn yn blaenoriaethu cyflwyniadau sy'n dangos perthnasedd i'r cyd-destun Cymreig.

This cross disciplinary conference will be attended by conservators, curators, collection managers and others engaged in the care of collections. The conference ethos is to be an inclusive network and proposals are welcomed from those inside and outside of Wales, although when selecting papers we will prioritise presentations that demonstrate relevance to the Welsh context.

Matters Wales is a collaboration between Amgueddfa Cymru – National Museum Wales, the Federation of Museums and Art Galleries in Wales, and Cardiff University.
