Your chance to join the editorial panel of the Journal of the Institute of Conservation!

Icon is looking for new members of the Editorial Panel of the Journal of the Institute of Conservation.

26 Aug 2020

Editorial Panel (EP) benefits hugely from the amount of time its members are able to dedicate in helping the Editor with decision-making to enhance the international reputation of the Journal.

It is important that the Editorial Panel does not remain static and that new voices and diverse experiences and backgrounds can be brought into the editorial process to both validate and broaden the Journal's content.

We are therefore pleased to announce that we are now looking for up to four new members of the Editorial Panel.

The role involves

  • canvassing peers for submissions to the Journal
  • assisting with the peer review process by suggesting suitable reviewers or undertaking reviews in your specialist area
  • promoting the journal widely to people in conservation and other relevant disciplines
  • attending at least one of the two online Editorial Panel meetings per year.

We are especially seeking candidates with a stronger perspective on issues facing new and emerging conservators and those currently under-represented in conservation's professional structures.

Member’s should be knowledgeable in their areas in the field and be able to commit to a minimum of three year’s service with the option to extend beyond this based on levels of activity.

Please send Expressions of Interest and a short CV to the Editor by 14 September 2020, with a view to taking part from the beginning of November 2020.
