Trailblazer apprenticeships move up a gear

Icon has been working as part of the Historic Environment trailblazer group since 2016 to develop Apprenticeships for the heritage sector

After considerable work from across the employer group, the standards were finally approved in the spring of 2019. Since that point work has been going on in the background to turn these apprenticeships into a reality. We're delighted to be able to confirm that the University of Lincoln is registered to deliver the Level 7, Cultural Heritage Conservator Standard, and West Dean College are planning to register for the Level 4 Cultural Heritage Conservation Technician standard.

If you're an employer who is considering taking on apprentices, an event has been organised on 27th February 2020 in London through the wider Historic Environment working group, alongside Historic England, CIfA and the IHBC. The event offers the opportunity for potential hosts to meet with training providers, to find out more about their specific programmes and to understand how they can support your organisation in taking on and supporting heritage apprentices.
