We are looking for a Collections Conservator, London to join our team. The role is full time and permanent. You`ll be on a permanent, full time basis, working 36 hours per week.

About the Role

This is a great opportunity for an experienced conservator to manage and deliver the care and conservation of our historic collections in our London properties.

As Collections Conservator, London, you will manage and deliver the care and conservation of our historic collections located across ten properties in London. You`ll lead on the implementation and maintenance of appropriate collections conservation standards across sites in London, assisted by a small team of Collections Conservation Assistants.

You will develop and provide training in all aspects of preventive conservation to colleagues across London. You will also work with colleagues across the organisation to ensure collections conservation best practice during activities ranging from building works to events and filming.

About You 

  • First degree, postgraduate qualification and/or equivalent experience in collections conservation or preventive conservation
  • Experience of working in historic houses
  • Experience of working with a range of heritage professionals
  • Experience of safely delivering events and filming around collections or in historic environments
  • Excellent communicator and influencer with proven ability to build and sustain positive relationships outside own area - across teams and disciplines
