In 2022 two large oil canvas paintings, ‘St Ives Harbour’ and ‘Portrait of Captain Josiah Thomas’ by Cornish artist William Cox were conserved and put on public display thanks to funding from the Tru Vue® Conservation and Exhibition Grant Scheme.

6 June 2024 marked the 80th anniversary since the D-Day operation, which set in motion the liberation of France from the Nazi occupiers and contributed immensely to the end of World War II. As we remember the sacrifice of the soldiers, tangible objects used on that day help us to connect to history in a more meaningful way.
