Sustainability… the “S” word. Sometimes when you talk about sustainability, people’s eyes glaze over and they disconnect. Many believe that the “S” word has been overused and it no longer holds much meaning. Others can get defensive or negative when we broach the topic. So how can we get people to care? How do we get our colleagues on board?How do we discuss sustainability projects with our upper management? How do we effectively communicate our message?
The “Sustainability in Conversation” training brings the Ki Toolkit Guide to life and addresses the psychological implications of sustainability and how we can create positive messaging and create meaningful dialogue. We will discuss strategies for engaging in conversations about sustainability and the importance of building awareness and the ripple effect to create cultures of sustainability in our workplaces and practice addressing different scenarios.
Trainer:
Caitlin Southwick (MSc, PD) is the Founder and Executive Director of Ki Culture and Sustainability in Conservation. She is a trained art conservator and has worked in the conservation field and in museums around the world, including the Vatican Museums, The Getty Conservation Institute, and Easter Island. She is the Secretary of the Working Group on Sustainability for the International Council of Museums (ICOM).
