Topics presented will be informed by the pre-symposium survey and explored on the day alongside talks by invited speakers, presentations by private practice colleagues, round table discussions and audience participation. The symposium will be both an in-person and online event.
The pre-symposium survey is designed to gather information and opinions on how the private sector is faring in 2025, and results will be summarised and explored at the symposium through round-table discussion and audience participation. Anonymity of participants will be preserved.
The PPG welcomes submission for presentations and lightning talks from conservators at any stage of their career who work within or have experience of the private sector.
Presentations are suggested, but not limited to, the following themes:
Presenters are encouraged to attend in person. To assist with attendance costs, all in-person presenters will receive a travel stipend.

Abstracts: Submit up to 300-word abstract. Selected presenters will be offered the opportunity to present for 15-20 minutes on their topic.
Lightning Talks: Short talks with the aim of quickly sharing ideas, experiences and reflections. Submit up to 100-word abstract. Selected presenters will be offered the opportunity to present for 5-10 minutes on their topic.
