This exciting opportunity has been made possible through the generous support of a partnership of six heritage sector funders: The Anna Plowden Trust, The Idlewild Trust, The Julia Rausing Trust, The National Manuscripts Conservation Trust, The Pilgrim Trust, and The Radcliffe Trust, with additional support from the Association for Industrial Archaeology.
The fully funded internship will provide an emerging conservation professional with the chance to develop practical skills while contributing to a meaningful industrial heritage project. Host organisations play a vital role in shaping this experience by offering supervised, hands-on work within their collections, sites or studios. Funding covers the intern’s bursary and associated programme costs, enabling hosts to participate without incurring salary or training expenses.
This drop-in session is designed to help organisations understand what hosting involves, including expectations, the level of support available from Icon, the types of projects that are suitable, and how to submit an expression of interest. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and discuss how the internship could align with their organisation’s work and capacity.
