Jasmine Allen

Director and Curator, The Stained Glass Museum

Jasmine Allen joined The Stained Glass Museum as Curator in 2013 and has played a key role in the museum's strategic development in recent years, becoming Director and Curator in 2016. Jasmine specialises in stained glass 1800-present and has published widely in this field.

Her book Windows for the world: stained glass and the international exhibitions 1851-1900 (Manchester University Press, 2018) was developed from her PhD (University of York) and focused on the exhibition of post-medieval stained glass in an international context.

Jasmine is also an Honorary Freeman of the Worshipful Company of Glaziers and Painters on Glass, and committee member of the Stained Glass Repository and Education and Training Committee.

She is also a Trustee of the British Corpus Vitrearum Medii Aevi (CVMA), external stained glass advisor to the Ely Diocesan Advisory Committee, and a member of the British Society of Master Glass Painters.

Isabelle Davies

Project Conservator, The Stained Glass Museum

Isabelle Davies is a stained glass conservator and artist based in Cambridge. Isabelle joined The Stained Glass Museum in Spring 2026 to carry out the first phase of the multi-year ‘Preserving a Stained Glass Legacy’ project at the museum.

Isabelle earned an MA in Stained Glass Conservation and Heritage Management from the University of York and has been recognised for her conservation work with awards including from The Worshipful Company of Glaziers and The Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust.

She worked previously at The Cathedral Studios, Canterbury, and Reyntiens Glass Studio, London, and is now freelance, working from her studio, Iota Glass, in Cambridgeshire and further afield. Isabelle is an Icon member and a committee member for the Plowden Medal conservation award.

Aurelia Fernandes

Aurelia Fernandes is a stained glass conservator and heritage communications specialist with an MA in Stained Glass Conservation and Heritage Management from the University of York, funded by four competitive awards including the Anna Plowden Trust and the Zibby Garnett Travel Fellowship. Her research focuses on South Asian coloured glass heritage, with original fieldwork conducted at palatial sites across Rajasthan. 

Caroline Holmriis Steffansen

Caroline Holmriis Steffansen graduated as a master in art conservation from The Royal Danish Academy in Copenhagen in June 2026 with a thesis on the Norwegian stained-glass artist Emanuel Vigeland’s window in Aarhus Cathedral, Denmark, exploring his painting technique and the causes leading to darkening of the window. During her education Caroline has been working with panel, easel and wall paintings, but she fell in love with stained glass during an internship in the stained-glass workshop of Uppsala Cathedral, Sweden, in 2023. Since then, she has been specialising in stained-glass conservation through practical work and studies, with an emphasis on chemical analysis and environmental influences.

Adrianna Polcyn

Adrianna Polcyn is a professional visual artist based in Scotland. She works with 3D media and XR content productions, where her main domain of expertise is 3D scanning and 4D volumetric video, VR and projects in the film, games and TV sector. She is interested in both artistic and technical aspects of visual arts, including filmmaking, video post-production, and research and development in computer-generated graphics. Adrianna also has a strong interest in cultural heritage and architecture preservation. Her current personal research includes testing Gaussian Splatting workflows to allow for coloured 3D scans of objects such as stained glass windows, shiny and thin elements and other difficult surfaces.

Margot Steuerbaut

Margot (Marge) Steurbaut is a stained-glass conservator and researcher from Belgium. She obtained a BA in Conservation-Restoration from the University of Antwerp (BE) and an MA in Stained-Glass Conservation and Heritage Management from the University of York (UK).

She is currently a PhD candidate in Art History at Rice University in Houston, TX (USA), conducting research on the collaborative making of stained glass in the Age of Rubens. Marge draws on her technical and practical background in conservation to inform her academic work on historical stained-glass-making processes. Her research methods involve practical experimentation, often in collaboration with contemporary master glass painters, to reconstruct workshop practices through material and archival evidence.

Bronwen Stone

Bronwen Stone took up archaeology as a second career (or even fourth) in 2016 when she returned to university in Sheffield to undertake an MA in Cultural Materials and a PhD, which was completed in 2025. For her doctoral study, she researched the origins of the English glassmaking industry through a consumption study of excavated window glass from monastic sites. The results from this multi-analytical research are presented here, at the conference. She has worked on material culture, from the Bronze Age to the 20^th century, from both commercial and research excavations.

Brianne Van Voorst

Brianne Van Vorst is the principal of the consulting firm Liberty Stained Glass Conservation. She began her stained-glass career at the University of York, where she earned an MA in Stained Glass Conservation and Cultural Heritage Management.

During her graduate program, Brianne apprenticed at one of Britain’s oldest stained-glass firms, the York Glaziers Trust, where she served as a team member conserving York Minster’s Great East Window (1405-1408).

After returning to the US, Brianne began her professional career in a private studio, Northeast Stained Glass in New Jersey. Her work in both the US and the UK gave her unique insights into and understanding of the differences in industry standards and techniques of stained-glass conservation.

Motivated to support the professional care and treatment of stained glass in America, Brianne founded Liberty Stained Glass Consulting in 2016. Guided by international conservation standards, the firm advocates for and ensures the responsible and ethical treatment of stained glass in order to protect this vulnerable aspect of our nation’s artistic heritage.  

Brianne’s consulting firm conducts condition surveys, treatment recommendations, documentation, and photography, and also provides job specifications, bidding services, and project management. Liberty advocates for a measured conservation approach and engages reputable stained-glass studios to execute projects.

Recent significant projects include the window conservation at Trinity Church, Wall Street (NYC); surveying Woodlawn Cemetery’s collection of 1,200 stained-glass windows spanning nearly 150 years (the Bronx, NY);  construction administration for over 450 historic windows at Carnegie Hall (NYC); conserving the early 20th century C.E. Kempe window scheme at St. John’s Chapel at The Groton School (Groton, MA); the ongoing conservation of the 12 Louis C. Tiffany windows at Briarcliff Congregational Church (Briarcliff Manor, NY); and surveying more than 30 of Louis C. Tiffany’s most significant windows at the Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art (Winter Park, FL).

Brianne is a fellow of the Corning Museums of Glass and holds professional memberships with the Corpus Vitrearum Medi Aevi: International Scientific Committee for the Care of Stained Glass, Association for Preservation Technology, New York Landmarks Conservancy, Partners for Sacred Spaces, and the American Glass Guild.
