Trustee

National Heritage Science Forum (Deadline 10/11/2025)

15 Oct 2025
The National Heritage Science Forum (NHSF) is looking for four trustees to join its Board at a pivotal time for heritage science in the UK. We have vacancies for two general trustees, an Honorary Secretary and an Honorary Treasurer.

Heritage science is the scientific study of cultural and natural heritage. It brings people together from the arts and sciences and is used in the understanding, care, and long-term management of heritage as well as to increase people’s enjoyment of heritage. It spans the use of sub-microscopic techniques to the exploration of global issues such as climate change.

We are looking for people who support our aims of increasing collaboration and knowledge exchange and communicating the role of heritage science in creating better outcomes for society.

We welcome applications from people with diverse backgrounds, and you do not need to have previous experience as a trustee or a background in heritage science. We are particularly keen to encourage applications from people who can help us to diversify our income base, develop our membership and communicate our work to a wider audience.

Please see our website for further information and the following role descriptions:

Application process: please send a CV and covering letter explaining why you would like to become a trustee of NHSF and the role you are interested in, to Caroline Peach [email protected] by 23:59 on 10th November 2025.

Online interviews are planned for the week starting 24th November 2025.

The successful candidate would be proposed to the membership for appointment to NHSF’s Board of Trustees at the AGM in January 2026.

For an informal conversation about any of the roles, please contact Caroline Peach, [email protected]
