York Archaeology (Deadline 31/10/2025)
York Archaeology delivers commercial conservation services from our industry leading conservation lab in York. The organisation combines conservation with world famous heritage attractions with excavation, survey, consultancy, research and an unmatched commitment to dissemination, engagement and public benefit.
About the Role
We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for imaginative and dynamic individuals as part of the expansion of our Conservation team. We are looking for a Conservation Project Manager to help lead our team of conservators. We are building on the vision that began with the pioneering excavation of waterlogged deposits at Coppergate and the development of both large and small object conservation methodologies.
This role would be based at the York office, with time divided between the lab at Aldwark and our large object store at Huntington Road, York. Our team works both nationally and internationally to deliver specialist conservation services.
As part of our team you will also have the opportunity to work alongside highly skilled geoarchaeology and heritage professionals, who specialise in a wide range of archaeological sub-disciplines including wetland archaeology, geomatics and Lidar, archaeobotany, aerial photography and spatial analysis.
About You
To help in our mission, we require people with the character and skills to deliver commercial contracts cost-effectively and to the satisfaction of clients. Just as importantly we are looking for someone with the ambition, enthusiasm and drive, to use this platform of discovery to help build the connections and to secure positive social impacts using science and heritage.
This extends to exciting opportunities to contribute to new initiatives in public engagement, education, research and publication, via conventional and digital channels.
If you feel you have demonstrable relevant experience and skills, or indeed untapped potential and are ready for a change, get in touch and explore the possibilities.
Applicants should demonstrate relevant experience in their application.
