It looks back at the development of plastics conservation / preservation as a specific function within heritage collections management. I was lucky enough be there at the start and have witnessed the changes in attitudes to, and treatment of plastic objects in museum and gallery collections over the past 30 years.
Brenda Keneghan is an independent consultant and trainer on Care of Plastics in Heritage Collections. She spent almost 30 years at the Victoria and Albert Museum where she was the specialist in plastics in the Conservation Department.
Brenda is currently a visiting tutor in conservation at West Dean College of Arts & Conservation where she delivers various training courses in plastics.
Brenda is a committee member of the Plastics Historical Society and co-editor of their journal Plastiquarian.
