Icon launches its in-person tours for Icon26, offering exclusive access to conservation studios and collections across Edinburgh.

28 Apr 2026

We are delighted to announce that the in-person tours for the Icon Conference 2026: Practice, People, and Purpose have officially launched.

Taking place throughout the day on Tuesday 23 June 2026 in Edinburgh, the host city for this year’s conference, these tours offer a unique opportunity to explore the rich and varied conservation landscape ahead of the main programme.

What to Expect

The in-person tours provide exclusive behind-the-scenes access to a range of conservation studios, collection stores, and museum spaces. Each location highlights distinct collections, specialist expertise, and diverse areas of practice, giving delegates a rare glimpse into the work shaping the sector today.

Participants can look forward to:

  • Exchanging insights with fellow professionals and host teams working with significant collections
  • Exploring current approaches and challenges in conservation practice across Edinburgh
  • Building connections with peers in a relaxed and informal setting ahead of the conference
  • Arriving at the conference already engaged, with ideas and conversations underway

In-person tours are exclusively available to registered Icon26 delegates and are included within the main conference ticket fee. As places are limited, we encourage delegates to reserve their spot early to avoid missing out.
