Private Practice

The Icon Private Practice group is dedicated supporting those conservator-restorers working as freelancers or in private practice. We are committed to encouraging public engagement with cultural heritage through a variety of events, including in-person and online talks, as well as workshop tours, either independently or in collaboration with other private practices. 

The group will:

• Represent the voices of independent conservators/conservation practices within the conservation profession and wider heritage community.
• Provide a platform for independent conservators/conservation practices to contribute to debates on relevant issues including professional standards, policy, and education. 
• Promote the values and benefits of independent practitioners/practices to users of their services.
• Provide a network for independent practitioners/practices to share best practice, nurture and facilitate collaboration, foster commercial resilience and growth, and develop new ideas. 
• Support independent practitioners/practices by using its collective resources and strength to access information, guidance, and support not usually available to individual businesses.
