Adjustments to meet your needs

We are committed to ensuring that the Accreditation assessment process is accessible and fair for all candidates

If a disability, neurodiverse condition, or long-term health condition could affect your ability to complete any stage of the assessment, we encourage you to discuss your needs with us so that appropriate reasonable adjustments can be considered and put in place.

The reasonable adjustments applied will depend on your condition and needs, but may include things such as:

  • Opportunity to submit application or portfolio information in different formats – e.g. an audio recording rather than written text.
  • Extended time to complete the e-portfolio and/or assessment discussion
  • Time out from the assessment process if required.
  • Changes to the format of the discussion – e.g. broken into several smaller discussions, or conducted in-person.
  • Presence of a support worker or colleague in the discussion.

More information about fair access to assessment can be found in our Fair Access Policy

To request reasonable adjustments at assessment, candidates should first get in touch by emailing [email protected], we can then discuss the policy with you and ensure that you are eligible for reasonable adjustments.

You must then complete the Reasonable Adjustments Request and return it to [email protected] . If the nature of your condition makes completing forms challenging, you can call Icon on 020 3142 6799 and ask to speak to a staff member from the Skills Team and we can discuss your needs with you.

Please note, you may be required to submit evidence of your condition (for example, a diagnosis letter) to claim reasonable adjustments.
