Showcasing professional standards and accreditation
See below for information about how you should refer to your Icon Accredited status and promote the high standards of your professional practice.
All Accredited members can use the post nominal ‘ACR’ which stands for Accredited Conservator-Restorer. The ACR post-nominal is exclusive to accredited members only and is attached to the individual, as the accredited member, and not any business or organisation that person is associated with.
As an Accredited member of Icon, you are strongly encouraged to use the postnominal ACR (Accredited Conservator-Restorer). This could be on business cards, letterheads, email signatures and online profiles such as LinkedIn.
Emeritus Members (those who were formerly accredited and have now retired) may use the post nominal ‘ACR (Emeritus)’.
As an Accredited Member you are entitled to use the ACR Logo. It has been designed so that clients, commissioners and employers can readily identify your accredited status
Guidance
You can refer to yourself as an Accredited Member of Icon and describe yourself as an Accredited Conservator-Restorer (ACR) or Accredited Conservator. Promoting your accredited status helps clients, commissioners and employers recognise your professional competence and commitment to high standards.
Guidance
Find a Conservator is Icon's promotional service for Accredited Members, helping you showcase your practice to potential clients, commissioners and employers.
While all Accredited Members are listed on Icon's Register of Accredited Members, Find a Conservator gives you the opportunity to provide much more detailed information about your work and the services you offer. Through a personalised profile, you can highlight your specialisms, share case studies, showcase conservation projects and provide information about your business or practice.
A Find a Conservator profile acts as an advertisement for your services, helping you demonstrate your expertise and experience to those seeking professional conservation advice and treatment.
The service is available to Accredited Members on an optional paid basis. Newly Accredited Members receive a complimentary upgraded profile as part of their welcome to the ACR community.
To create or manage a profile, please contact the Membership Team at [email protected].
All Accredited Members are included on Icon's Register of Accredited Members, a publicly accessible record that recognises your professional accreditation. The Register enables employers, clients, commissioners and members of the public to verify your accredited status, specialism and year of accreditation. Inclusion demonstrates that you have met Icon's professional standards and achieved recognition as an accredited conservator-restorer.
