I am a second-year MA Conservation of Easel Paintings student at Northumbria University. In my first year, I began the treatment of a presumed alkyd painting, gaining experience in cleaning systems, structural repairs, and technical examination methods, including cross-section analysis.
Over the summer of 2024, I undertook three placements. At the Royal Pavilion in Brighton, I treated over 60 gilt objects. At the Laing Art Gallery and at Critchlow & Kukkonen, I focused on the treatment of traditional oil paintings from both private and museum collections.
I hold a BA (Hons) in Fine Art from the University of Leeds and a Diploma in Art and Design with Distinction/Merit from Leeds Arts University. My interests lie in the conservation and technical study of easel paintings, particularly in relation to treatment methodologies and the material history of paintings.
