The Historic Buildings, Parks and Gardens Event has been running for over 35 years and is held in parallel with the Historic Houses Annual General Meeting.

Free entry is available to everyone in the historic buildings, landscape conservation and heritage sectors. Visitors to the Event are owners, guardians, volunteers and professionals involved with historic buildings (private, commercial, industrial, Grade I listed buildings, cathedrals, churches, manor houses, windmills, historic town centres), parks, gardens and historic landscapes – their management staff and advisers.

The exhibition offers visitors the opportunity to discuss their current and future projects with experts and specialist suppliers.

At the event, you'll be able to talk to exhibitors, attend short talks, watch live demonstrations and meet the experts.

 

Icon will be present with a stand in the exhibition area, and three Icon members will give live demonstrations:

  • Rebecca Bissonnet ACR - textile conservator will give a practical demonstration on how to construct padded hangers for practical storage of costumes
  • Jacqui Hyman ACR (The Textile Restoration Studio) - textile conservator will demonstrate the importance of the correct method of packing for storage of family heirlooms
  • Phillipa McDonnell (Lincoln Conservation) - will be demonstrating Architectural Paint Research and 3D scanning in a heritage context, and showing an object scanner in action and examples of previous building scans.
