Call for Papers: Icon Photographic Materials Group Lightning Talks 2026
Thursday 10th December 2026, 3 pm- 5.30pm GMT
As is tradition, the Icon Photographic Material Group is closing the year with a Lighting Talks event. We invite colleagues to speak for 5 minutes about a recent project or endeavor related to the field of photograph conservation. The format will be online only, to encourage an international cohort of speakers and attendees. As is customary, there will be time allocated for questions and ponderings after the presentations.The event is open to anyone with an interest in the care and preservation of photographic materials.
We invite you to submit a titled abstract (c.100 words) with your name, affiliation and time zone and/or location to [email protected] by Sunday, 15th of November.
Topics may include but are not limited to; treatment practices, preventive conservation, scientific research, education, and outreach and funding. All topics related to the care and conservation of photographic materials are encouraged!
The 5-minute presentations should include around five PowerPoint slides, which should be illustrative rather than textual.

An event page to register attendance will be shared closer to the event date and will include the final version of the programme. After registration, a Zoom link will be shared closer to the time. The event will be recorded and shared afterwards.
