We’re open! Pop in to Icon’s virtual conservation studios

The doors to Icon's virtual conservation studios have now opened as a part of England's largest festival of heritage and culture

09 Nov 2020

Accredited conservators across the country have opened their virtual doors to the public to showcase their work as part of the 20th Anniversary celebrations of Icon Accreditation.

Icon’s virtual open studios allow the public to get an insight into the fascinating world of conservation. A series of videos will give visitors exclusive access to studios across the country, going behind the scenes of where conservators practice their specialist skills. Audiences will get to hear from conservators working on treasured objects ranging from books and paper, ceramics, architectural paint and archaeology.

The virtual studio tours are being featured as a part of the Heritage Open Days festival. Taking place every September, the festival offers visitors the opportunity to experience thousands of events for free. This year, events are being hosted online for the first time in the festival’s history.
