National Museums Northern Ireland (NMNI) is seeking to appoint an Icon Accredited Conservator-Restorer (ACR) or equivalent supplier to deliver conservation and restoration work on four historic vessels from its maritime collections.
The project will involve the conservation of:
- Mary Joseph
- Children's Hope
- The Fancy
- The Result
The contract has an estimated value of £400,000 (excluding VAT) and will run from October 2026 to October 2029, with the option of two one-year extensions.
Conservation work on Mary Joseph and Children's Hope will begin immediately following contract award. Work on The Fancy is scheduled to commence in April 2027, while work on The Result will begin in September 2027 and be delivered in two phases.
This is a significant opportunity for conservator-restorers with specialist expertise in maritime heritage and the conservation of historic vessels.
