Icon is looking for a Business Administration Apprentice to support the delivery of volunteer-led groups and public engagement activities.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is organised, enthusiastic and interested in developing a career in business administration, stakeholder engagement and project coordination within the cultural heritage sector.

About the Role

As Icon's Business Administration Apprentice, you'll support our volunteer-led Special Interest Groups and public programmes, helping to deliver activities that engage members, volunteers and the wider public. You'll assist with event administration, communications, website updates, record keeping, enquiries, reporting and financial processes.

Working closely with colleagues, volunteers and external partners, you'll gain valuable experience in business administration while contributing to meaningful work that supports the UK's cultural heritage sector.

Based in our Clerkenwell office, with hybrid working available, this is an excellent opportunity for someone who is organised, proactive and enjoys working with people.

This apprenticeship has been made possible through funding from The National Lottery Heritage Fund.

About You

We're looking for someone who is enthusiastic, organised and keen to learn. You'll enjoy working with people, managing a variety of tasks and supporting projects and events.

You'll need:

  • GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent)
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Attention to detail and the ability to manage your time effectively
  • Confidence using IT and online systems
  • A positive, proactive approach to learning and problem-solving
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Training and Development

You will complete the Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship with LDN Apprenticeships, combining practical workplace experience with structured training and support.

Through the apprenticeship, you'll develop skills in:

  • Business administration and office systems
  • Communication and stakeholder engagement
  • Customer service and member support
  • Information and records management
  • Financial administration
  • CRM and digital systems
  • Event and project coordination
  • Professional workplace practice

Training will include workplace learning, online study, project work, regular reviews and one-to-one support, helping you build the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to achieve your qualification.

Things to Consider

  • This role involves supporting volunteers, members and external stakeholders, as well as helping to deliver events and public programmes.
  • You'll need to balance a range of tasks, maintain accurate records and communicate professionally with a variety of people.
  • The role is based in our Clerkenwell office, with hybrid working available.
