Many important day-to-day collections care and maintenance tasks are not currently possible due to the vital social distancing and self-isolation measures to mitigate the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19). This is putting collections at risk and is a concern for many across the sector.
In response, Icon has created a hub of resources and information to support organisations looking after their collections during the lockdown and to help stakeholders understand the associated challenges. The page features technical guidance on collections care, articles and advice from sector colleagues and updates on Icon’s advocacy work for collections.
We will be expanding the page with more information and guidance to support all conservators and institutions to undertake their essential collections care duties. If you would like to get involved with this work or have a resource that should feature on the page, please let us know.
