Beky is an Accredited Member of the Institute of Conservation (Icon) with a professional focus on the conservation and restoration of ceramics, preventive conservation, and the ongoing care of collections. She currently serves as the representative for ceramics and glass on the Icon Accreditation Committee.
Working on a freelance basis, Beky operates nationally across the UK, with a diverse client base that includes museums, art galleries, The National Trust, historic houses, and private collectors of both antique and contemporary ceramic objects.
Her conservation services encompass a wide range of expertise, including conservation and restoration treatments, condition surveys, advice on collections decant and storage, loan assessments, and preventive conservation audits—particularly within historic house settings. She also acts as supervising conservator on film sets located in historic properties.
Beky's remedial work covers a broad spectrum of ceramics and related materials, including hard and soft paste porcelain, stoneware, earthenware, and low-fired ceramics. Her expertise extends to enamels, cloisonné, plique-à-jour, Parian ware, glass, ivory (historic), marble, jade, and architectural ceramics.
