Archaeology Group: AGM and The Jersey Purse

Join us for our AGM and a talk on the leather purse found with the Jersey Celtic coin hoard

The famously large Celtic coin hoard found at Catillon II, Jersey in 2012 contained, among many other items, a leather purse. Conservator Neil Mahrer and Finds Specialist Esther Cameron tell the story of its recovery and conservation, with fascinating details from its ongoing investigation and analysis. It is hoped that Icon AG will host another talk on the hoard itself, the largest hoard of Celtic gold and silver coins, jewellery and ingots ever found in Western Europe. See the Jersey Museum website for details of this exciting find and project.
