The Public Statues and Sculpture Association (PSSA) Marsh Awards are accepting nominations

One of the awards recognises Excellence in the Conservation of a Public Sculpture or Fountain

 

Three Awards are presented by the PSSA in partnership with the Marsh Charitable Trust.

The Marsh Award for Excellence in Conservation of a Public Sculpture or Fountain is offered for the conservation or repair of an existing work in a public place between 1 January 2021 and 31 December 2021. The conservation award commends craft and professional skill.

Nominations for the Award go through a number of stages of judging by a panel consisting of specialists in the field.

Any work of public sculpture, any fountain and any conservation project on a work of public sculpture or a fountain may be nominated for an award. Artists or conservators may enter their own work. Entries and Nominations must be received by noon on Saturday 16 April 2022.

The PSSA encourages engagement with the many thousands of sculptures in the public domain across the UK, which represent an important part of our shared cultural heritage. It champions the historical, artistic and social context of public statues and sculpture, and also promotes education about sculpture, publishing articles, academic papers and specialist books.
