PPG SYMPOSIUM 2025 - Private Practice: Where are we now?

Join the Icon Private Practice Group for their 2025 Conference on 6 October!

25 Sep 2025

With just over a week to go, the Private Practice Group (PPG) shares details about their inaugural symposium on 6th October 2025 at the Belfrey Hall, York and Online.

Featuring wide-ranging presentations by conservators in private practice, to guest speakers from the Association of Independent Museums, The National Trust and The Church of England, and results of pre-Symposium survey investigating issues currently facing private practice conservators. This hybrid event aims to bring together conservation professionals and students for an engaging and supportive day celebrating the achievements and recognising the challenges of working in private practice.

Programme Highlights

The Private Practice Group is excited to be hosting their inaugural symposium dedicated to working in private practice.

We are looking forward to welcoming delegates in person and online, offering presentations that celebrate working in private practice, discussions of the challenges faced, and practical solutions covering aspects of marketing, procurement and pricing strategies.

Another highlight will be discovering the results of our pre-symposium survey, which investigated issues currently faced by private practice conservators. It should be a thoroughly illuminating and thought-provoking way to round up the symposium.
