Overview

Designed to help collections tell the stories in their volumes quickly and easily the Book Shelter was developed in collaboration with the National Trust to enable the open display of books and documents in historic environments where no display case was available or desirable.

About the speaker

Bridget Mitchell ACR is set up her private conservation and preservation practise in 2003 having previously been senior conservator at the V&A and Conservation Assistant at the Bodleian Library. Her specialism in book Box-making and display supports for complex objects have developed from her interest in how books and manuscripts are physically used in their current custodial situation and the support required for them to continue to be able to tell their stories for the centuries to come.
