Continue the conversation beyond the conference sessions at an evening of connections, ideas, and celebration in the heart of Edinburgh.
One of the most valuable aspects of the Icon Conference is the chance to meet and learn from colleagues working across the conservation profession and the wider heritage sector. Following the first day of conference sessions, delegates are invited to continue those conversations at the Icon Conference 2026 Evening Reception.
Whether reconnecting with familiar faces, meeting new contacts, or discussing the ideas and challenges raised throughout the day, the evening offers a welcoming space to build professional relationships and exchange perspectives.
A highlight of the reception will be a keynote address from Professor Alison Harley of the Bernat Klein Foundation. Drawing on her extensive experience of developing and championing Bernat Klein's legacy, Alison will explore how creative archives, historic places, and collaborative partnerships can shape the future understanding of significant cultural figures and their work.
Her talk will offer insights into the ongoing stewardship of Klein's remarkable contribution to textile design, colour, architecture, and creativity, as well as the work being undertaken to preserve and share this legacy with new audiences.
The evening will also provide plenty of opportunity to enjoy refreshments and conversation with delegates from across the world. Bringing together conservators, heritage professionals, researchers, educators, and students, the reception creates space for meaningful connections and new collaborations.
Set within one of Edinburgh's most iconic venues, the Assembly Rooms provides a fitting backdrop for an evening dedicated to sharing ideas, celebrating achievements, and strengthening professional networks.

We look forward to welcoming delegates for an enjoyable evening celebrating the conservation community and the exchange of ideas that lies at the heart of Icon Conference 2026.
