Give Back 2020 - help us strengthen the conservation community

Icon is delighted to be taking part in Giving Tuesday - an annual fundraising event taking place on the 1st of December.

24 Nov 2020

Over 150 countries participated last year across the world. This year the campaign is called ‘Give Back 2020’ and is focused on giving back to your community. The event serves as a counterbalance to Black Friday and Cyber Monday and is a day in the year when people think about others and their communities.

So, what does Give Back 2020 mean for Icon?

  • GiveBack2020 is a chance to take something positive from what has been a difficult year for individuals and for charities
  • We welcome the opportunity to participate in the world's biggest global fundraising event
  • We are taking steps to support future generations and to build a better future for conservation

Icon’s vision is for cultural heritage to be valued and accessible and for its future to be enhanced and safeguarded by excellence in conservation. Icon members are the cornerstone of our efforts, working to protect and care for cultural heritage in museums, in private collections and wherever else it might be found. Which is why on Giving Tuesday we want to focus on celebrating our members and strengthening our conservation community.

But we need your help. We are an independent charity, and we rely on membership fees to achieve our strategic objectives and fulfil our charitable purposes for the benefit of the public. On the 1st of December you will have an opportunity to:

  • Sponsor a student member
  • Sponsor an international member
  • Gift an Icon membership

To support our campaign, visit our new fundraising page, which you can see here. You can also watch our promotional video ahead of the day here. We will also be taking donations by text.

Please follow our social media campaign during the day and share it with your networks too (find us on Twitter at @Conservators_UK).

Let us come together to celebrate conservation and help others at the close of difficult year!
