The Traditional Paint Forum are pleased to host a talk by Maxwell Maulden and Kirsten Walsh of Orbis Conservation documenting the conservation of a collection of fourteen, Nineteenth Century figureheads from ships which once belonged to the Royal Navy and which now form a dramatic exhibit at The Box museum and art gallery in Plymouth.
Maxwell and Kirsten will discuss the paint analysis and conservation techniques, decision making and compromises which informed the final colour choices for these impressive wooden sculptures.
This will be a free event and participation will be via a Zoom link with a suggested donation to Conservation Courses at the City & Guilds London School of Art.
