The Textiles and Modern Materials group have joined forces to organise an afternoon at the Museum of London, Docklands.
The wonderful new exhibition 'Fashion City: How Jewish Londoners Shaped Global Style' features many beautiful garments that are significant for both modern materials and textile conservators (early synthetic materials, sequins and beading).
The curator of the exhibition will talk to us about the exhibition content and there will be several short discussions around the issues associated with modern materials in textiles.
A visit to the Fashion City exhibition is a must. With your Icon booking you will receive a discount code to book a ticket for the reduced price of £10.40. Tickets must be booked separately through the Museum. If you work in a museum where you have a reciprocal agreement, you can book your ticket at the information desk on the day.
The talks will be free to Icon Members. Non Memebrs can attend for a fee of £10.
Attendees should plan for about an hour to see the exhibition and book a slot before the talks at 2pm.
