For the second talk of the series: A closer look at conservation materials, the Stone and Wall Painting Committee is pleased to introduce Giorgia Ferrari, who will present two innovative enzymatic cleaning agents.
The enzymatic NASIER products, produced and distributed by Brenta S.r.l. promote an innovative cleaning method for a sustainable restoration of cultural heritage. The cleaning agents are non-toxic to the operator and the environment.
The products are based on enzymes stabilized by micro and nanotechnological platforms owned by Brenta's patent. These do not require pH and temperature control, providing an easy to use and efficient technique. The ready-to-use enzymatic products, applicable to different types of cultural heritage, allow:
A non-toxic conservation intervention for the restorer and the environment
Optimization of labour times
Controlled, selective and therefore respectful cleaning of the work of art
Two products are specifically designed for the cleaning of ARCHITECTURAL-DECORATIVE RESTORATION:
NASIER LAPIDEO L01, for the removal of biological and protein patinas from stone materials.
NASIER LAPIDEO L02, for the removal of organic and synthetic patinas from stone materials.
Both products are applicable to all types of stone materials (stone, marble), bricks, tuff, glass, plastic, metal, plaster, frescoes, stucco, plaster, wall paintings.
The selectivity and specificity of the enzymes and the technological platform developed by Brenta with Nasier are not harmful to original elements of the artistic artefact, and therefore guarantee a controlled cleaning action without pigmentation phenomena, restoring delicately and enhancing the noble patina of the surfaces.
The products do not bare any hazard pictograms on their labels and the waste water from washing can be poured into the drains or into the environment, without causing damage to flora and fauna as they are not classified as toxic substances. The laying times (45-90 minutes) and ease of application and removal of the products allow optimisation of the times and methods for cleaning architectural and decorative surfaces.
Brenta S.rl. is an innovative Italian company founded in 2016. As a research driven, technology platform developer in pharmaceutical and material science fields, Brenta has patented materials and solutions for a sustainable restoration of cultural heritage called Nasier.
NASIER is a line of eco-friendly cleansers based on stabilized enzymes, no toxic for the operator and with low environmental impact, for the selective removal of patinas from artwork.
