National Museums Liverpool: In Focus: Conservation Talks

The next talk in the series of In Focus: Conservation Talks at National Museums Liverpool held every second Wednesday of the month is from the innovative Museum of Homelessness (MoH).

The talk will take place on Wednesday 14th May at 1.00pm – 1.30pm. Our speaker, Matt Turtle, is the co-founder and director of MoH, an award-winning museum led by people with experience of homelessness setup in 2015.

Matt says: ‘Over the last ten years, much of MoH’s work has explored trauma, representation and power including MoH’s collecting practices which are grounded in grassroots direct action and community organising.’ Matt explains how the museum has developed an alternative approach to collecting over its ten-year history, integrating live story-telling into solidarity-based collecting practices that explore complex narratives.
