This seminar will explore appropriate use of enzymes for the cleaning of painted and decorative surfaces. Topics to be covered include: enzyme catalysis, types of enzymes used in conservation, optimizing enzyme activity, and delivery methods.
Matt Cushman is Conservator of Paintings and Affiliated Assistant Professor at the Winterthur/University of Delaware Program in Art Conservation, where he teaches fundamentals of paintings conservation and the application of scientific principles in conservation practice.
