This one-day workshop will introduce the systematic approach and versatile technical solutions to the digitisation of archives and special collections.
You will gain a strong understanding of archival imaging standards. We will discuss how to set requirements suitable for any purpose ranging from collection documentation to large digitisation projects. You will benefit from a digitisation toolkit and guide to assess image quality.
Tutor: Maciej Pawlikowski has been working on the digitisation of special collections at Cambridge University Library and other cultural heritage institutions since 2006. He is a member ISO TC/42 JW26 workgroup focusing on standards for archival imaging, photography of transparent materials and multispectral imaging. Over the years, he has developed and designed equipment, protocols, and techniques to accommodate specialised imaging of cultural heritage artefacts.
