This year's conference, Data, Damage & Decision-Making: The Next Era of Stained Glass Conservation, will explore the future of stained glass conservation and the challenges and opportunities facing the profession in an increasingly complex world.
As rapid technological developments, environmental change, and shifting political landscapes continue to reshape the heritage sector, conservators are being called upon to make increasingly informed and nuanced decisions about the care of stained glass heritage. The conference will examine the vital relationship between ethics, documentation, professional practice, and decision-making, considering how today's work can help safeguard stained glass for future generations.
The Stained Glass Group is currently inviting proposals for 15–20 minute presentations that respond to the conference theme.

The committee particularly welcomes proposals that bring fresh perspectives, explore underrepresented topics, or showcase innovative techniques and approaches.
Abstracts should be no more than 300 words and submitted as a PDF or Word document to [email protected] by 31 May 2026.
Submissions are welcome from anyone involved in or interested in stained glass conservation, regardless of career stage.
To help make the conference accessible to emerging professionals, the Stained Glass Group will once again offer a number of free conference places for students and early career practitioners.
Applicants are invited to submit a short statement outlining their experience to date, career aspirations, and how attending the conference would support their professional development. Applications should be sent to [email protected] by 31 May 2026.
