Icon is seeking applications from Accredited Conservators to join the Icon Accreditation Committee as an 'Ordinary Member' to represent wooden objects and decorative surfaces

This is a vital role at the heart of the Icon Accreditation Process. The role of the AC member is to support members applying for Icon Accreditation by providing individual feedback at the application stage and to moderate assessment reports to ensure that the high standards of Icon Accreditation can be effectively maintained.

The role becomes available after John Hartley ACR (Furniture and Historic Joinery) and Mike Howden ACR (Gilding and Decorative Surfaces) have both decided to step down from the committee after many years of dedicated service.

Specialisms represented on the committee are intended to mirror the specialisms of candidates coming forward for Icon Accreditation. Over the last several rounds an increasing number of individuals working in built heritage have come forward for Icon Accreditation - as such, an individual with experience of working in a historic property context would be an advantage (but not essential).

To find out more about the current members please visit the Icon Accreditation Committee page

To apply for this role please submit a copy of your CV alongside a covering letter detailing how you meet the requirements of the person specification. Responses should be emailed to Patrick Whife at [email protected] by midday on 27th September 2021.
