Icon is seeking applications from Accredited Conservators to join the Icon Accreditation Committee as an 'Ordinary Member' to represent Paintings.

This is a vital role at the heart of the Icon Accreditation Process. The role of the AC member is to support members applying for Icon Accreditation by providing individual feedback at the application stage and to moderate assessment reports to ensure that the high standards of Icon Accreditation can be effectively maintained.

The role becomes available after Rachel Howells ACR has decided to step down from the committee after many years of dedicated service. She offers the following reflections on her time on the AC.

"Being on the AC has been a stimulating, thought provoking, interesting and highly enjoyable experience.  AC meetings are not without their challenges or disagreements.  Everyone is encouraged to contribute, every challenge or disagreement is carefully picked apart, each view respected and considered and a consensus arrived at.

I have been hugely impressed with the rigour and commitment all members of the AC and have learned so much from being in it. A really valuable, long lasting fun part, has been meeting members from other disciplines and chatting to them over coffee and lunch, and during the zoom breaks over the last year and a bit. I will miss these interactions, and have met some brilliant people through being on the AC."
