Practical Information Skills for Conservators

The Librarian has developed a course to help conservators improve their awareness of new techniques in information searching and retrieval. Particular emphasis is placed on the searching of electronic resources, using better search strategies to broaden or narrow results sets, increasing search efficiency to avoid duplication of work, and raising awareness of methods of resource and information evaluation.

These courses are half-day events, and will have a limited number of places. Details of when these courses will be available and corresponding venues will appear here, within the Icon events page, and on the education and training pages of the Icon website.

Courses can also be arranged for individual organisations, subject to the provision of a suitable location and essential equipment*. Contact the librarian for more details.

The course agenda included planning, gathering information, exploring ideas, producing a clear strurcture, referencing, revising and editing drafts, presentation....and much more !
