ros_library2.jpgWelcome to the website of the Chantry Library, the resource centre for ICON.

We provide services to members and non-members with an interest in conservation and the work of conservators.

With a wide selection of holdings, including monographs, journals and key conference proceedings, the library aims to provide a balance of practice-based and research-led information to support the work of our members and to help raise awareness of heritage conservation issues beyond the boundaries of the profession.

A Library Without Walls?

Along with the provision of traditional services, the Chantry Library also provides annotated links to aggregated Web Resources via delicious and the facility to search only these resources through the Heritage Conservation Search Engine. Whilst distance and time can prove barriers to visiting the physical library, we hope that the provision of remote services such as these will be useful to those interested in Heritage Conservation across the UK and beyond.

Track New Books and Journals at the Library in Real Time

You can now keep up-to-date with the arrival of new books and journals, future library events, and other library related news as and when it happens. Visit our Library News page to see it in action. You can even have the news come to you, rather than constantly visit the site - just subscribe to the RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feed. Details of how to do this can be found on the Library News page - see the links under "RSS/News Feed Information" in the right-hand column for more details.
