Jessica will be working closely with our existing Operations Director, AnnMarie Newbigin and others members of staff to further Icon’s aims to our members, the Cultural Heritage Sector and the wider public.

Jessica joins ICON from the East London Community Foundation where she was Chief Executive from September 2007.  Jessica has worked in the not for profit sector over the past ten years in a variety of roles in both New York and London, including Director roles at the British Youth Opera and the Drama League in New York.    She has also held executive positions with Grange Park and Pimlico Operas, the Royal Opera House, Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, Educational Alliance in New York and the Theatre Museum in New York.

Prior to moving into the voluntary sector, Jessica spent over eight years in local government both as a paid officer and as an elected councillor in the London Borough of Southwark and as a solicitor in the City.

Jessica is also a Board Adviser to the St Barts and London Hospital Charitable Foundation, a Board member of United St Saviours Charitable Trust, and an Honorary Alderman for Southwark.

Jessica has postgraduate degrees in Political Economy (Modern China) and Theatre Administration and a first degree in politics and economics. 

Over the next few months, Jessica will be in contact with the Groups to learn more about their current plans and activities.
