Categories of Membership
For those working in Conservation:

Ordinary Members may be professional conservator-restorers of cultural heritage who are trained and qualified and practising, also conservation scientists or academics and trainers in conservation. Ordinary Members have voting rights and may stand for election. They receive two Journals and six issues of Icon News per year and the regular electronic briefings, Iconnect and Iconnect Jobs. They have  full web access and discounts on conferences and services.

Accredited Members are Ordinary members who have chosen to submit to a rigorous peer-review process of professional accreditation which confirms that applicants meet the highest professional standards. Accredited Members have the same rights and receive the same benefits as Ordinary Members, but have the additional status of approval by their peers. If they are engaged in providing a commercial conservation service, their studio or workshop is eligible for consideration for inclusion on the Conservation Register - this status confers additional benefits.

Student & Trainee Members are those who are preparing for entry into the profession. Students, interns and trainees have most of the benefits of Ordinary Membership, with restricted voting rights.

Technician Members are those who work in directly conservation-related activities or under the supervision of a conservator-restorer. They receive 6 issues of Icon News per year plus the electronic briefing Iconnect. They have access to Groups membership including full web access and also have limited voting rights.
